MDS Product Warranty Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to eligible Magen Daniel Systems LLP devices, including MDS GLM products, unless a written quotation or agreement provides different product-specific terms.

1. Standard Warranty Period

Magen Daniel Systems LLP provides a 12-month limited warranty from the original date of purchase shown on a valid invoice or proof of purchase. An additional warranty extension of up to 24 months may be purchased, subject to the applicable commercial offer, eligibility, pricing and written confirmation by MDS.

2. What the Warranty Covers

During the applicable warranty period, MDS may provide warranty support for defects arising under normal and intended use, including where applicable:

  • Manufacturing or assembly defects.
  • Defective internal electronic components.
  • Internal hardware failures not caused by the customer.
  • Power-management or charging faults caused by a defective internal component.
  • GPS/GNSS, cellular, communication or connectivity failures caused by a defect in the device hardware.
  • Device synchronization failures caused by an internal hardware or officially supplied MDS firmware defect.
  • Firmware malfunction originating from official MDS firmware supplied for the device.
  • Internal sensor or circuit failure attributable to manufacturing, assembly, hardware or approved firmware.

Depending on the fault, MDS may repair the product, replace a defective component, replace the device with an equivalent unit, or provide another appropriate warranty solution.

3. Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover damage, malfunction or failure caused by:

  • Water, liquid, moisture, flooding or corrosion, unless the specific product version is expressly certified by MDS for that exposure.
  • Physical damage, impact, crushing, dropping, fire, excessive heat, abuse or misuse.
  • Incorrect installation, incorrect wiring, reverse polarity, over-voltage, unstable power supply or connection to an unauthorized power source.
  • Use outside specified operating conditions.
  • Accidents, vehicle electrical faults, external equipment or third-party accessories.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage to cables, connectors, enclosures, antennas, batteries or accessories caused by misuse or external force.
  • Network, SIM, telecom operator, GPS coverage, cloud, internet or third-party service outages not caused by a defect in the MDS device itself.

4. Immediate Warranty Void

The warranty becomes void immediately if the device is:

  • Opened, dismantled or physically modified by the customer or an unauthorized third party.
  • Repaired or serviced by a person or organization not authorized by MDS.
  • Tampered with in any manner.
  • Used for unauthorized reverse engineering, firmware extraction, firmware copying, cloning, duplication, decompilation or attempted reproduction of MDS technology.
  • Loaded with modified, unofficial, third-party or unauthorized firmware.
  • Subjected to attempts to alter, bypass or disable security, firmware, bootloader, authentication, communication protocols or internal software.
  • Used in an attempt to copy or reproduce MDS hardware, firmware, software, architecture or proprietary functionality.
  • Missing, altered or damaged serial numbers, security labels, seals or identification markings.

5. No Refund Where Warranty Is Voided

If the warranty is void due to misuse, physical or liquid damage, unauthorized opening or repair, tampering, firmware modification, reverse engineering, copying or another excluded activity, no refund, free replacement or free repair will be provided under the warranty, except where otherwise required by applicable law. MDS may offer a paid repair or replacement at its discretion.

6. Warranty Claim Requirements

MDS may require a valid invoice or proof of purchase, device serial number or Product ID, a description of the fault, photographs, videos, diagnostic logs and the physical device for inspection and testing. MDS reserves the right to inspect and test the device before confirming warranty coverage.

Where product registration is available, customers are encouraged to register the product on the MDS website. Registration helps MDS associate the product, purchase information and warranty history, but does not replace a valid proof of purchase where one is required.

7. Data and Software

Customers are responsible for backups of relevant account, device, application or connected-system information. Warranty work may require a reset, firmware update, reinstall, recovery or device replacement. MDS is not responsible for loss of locally stored information resulting from warranty service except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

8. Extended Warranty

An additional warranty extension of up to 24 months beyond the standard 12-month period may be available. The extension must be purchased and confirmed under the applicable MDS commercial offer, may be subject to eligibility or inspection requirements, does not restore coverage already voided, and remains subject to the exclusions and anti-tampering provisions above unless MDS agrees otherwise in writing.

9. Scope and Applicable Law

This warranty applies only to covered defects in the MDS device. It does not automatically include mobile data, SIM charges, cloud subscriptions, server services, installation, on-site support, maintenance contracts or third-party services unless expressly included in the customer's quotation or agreement. These terms are subject to applicable law and statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
